In today’s edition of Auburn Tigers news, a star defensive back announces his return to the Plains and more prospects and transfers commit to Auburn.

Auburn Tigers, get out your eyeball emojis because the Auburn football program dropped some big news this morning when they announced that star defensive back Keionte Scott will return for another season on the Plains.

Scott addressed the Auburn family via a video that was posted on his account on X, formerly Twitter. To quote the defensive back, his “time in Jordan-Hare is not done.”

Scott transferred to the Plains as a JUCO prospect from Snow College ahead of the 2022 season. He was the primary nickel for the Tigers in 2022, and grew to be a team leader and one of the defensive guys that everyone else rallies around.

With DJ James, Nehemiah Pritchett, and Jaylin Simpson leaving the Auburn secondary, returning Scott is a big deal.

Auburn Tigers earn more commits over the weekend

While the Auburn basketball team was destroying Indiana over the weekend, the Auburn football program picked up a few new players. Saturday afternoon, 3-star wide receiver Dylan Gentry announced his commitment to the Tigers as a Preferred Walk-On.

Out of Central-Phenix City, Gentry is close friends with teammate and fellow Auburn commit Cam Coleman. The pair will be bringing their state championship-level pass catching to Jordan-Hare Stadium next fall.

The Tigers also snagged their first transfer from the portal in former Georgia State wide receiver Robert Lewis. The WR visited the Plains over the weekend, and quickly knew he belonged in orange and blue.

After three years with the Panthers, Lewis recorded 97 catches for 1,278 yards and 13 touchdowns. He will have one year of eligibility left, and will be a great mentor for the talented incoming wide receivers like Perry Thompson and Cam Coleman.
