The Auburn football program is on a mission to get back to the top of the pecking order in the world of college football, and it all starts with recruiting. The Tigers have to face two powerhouses on the field every season in Georgia and Alabama, but they also have to compete with them on the recruiting trail.

With a new coaching staff on board and a new culture being constructed within the program, things are definitely looking up for the Tigers, and it shows in the recruiting rankings. But it takes more than just the coaching staff to get the job done.

Auburn football is no stranger to players-turned-recruiters. In the last few recruiting classes there has been at least one commit who goes above and beyond to try to pull the best guys to the Plains. This year, it’s 2024 quarterback commit Walker White.

But the players on the roster are contributing, too, as proven by defensive back Keionte Scott’s post on X several days ago:

Scott hails from San Diego, California, and transferred to the Plains from Snow College in Utah. Though he’s a long way from where he grew up, Scott says that he’s found a home in Auburn football and his goal is to help other young guys have the same experience, per AL.com:

"“You know, not necessarily sell anything, because it’s the real deal,” Scott said of his role as one of Auburn’s closers. “But just being able to tell the guys the player aspect of things. I feel like that’s big for them and I take pride in that.”"

With early signing day coming up next month, there is bound to be plenty of exciting recruiting news coming out of the Auburn football program. In the words of Keionte Scott, “it’s getting a little close to Flipmas.”
