Alex Golesh and his make-shift staff at Auburn continue to make some noise late on the first day of the Early Signing Period. Less than an hour after 4-star defensive lineman Corey Wells and his brother, 3-star linebacker Chris Wells, flipped to the Tigers, the new Auburn coach went into enemy territory and earned yet another talented player.

Brian Williams Jr., a 6-foot-4, 200-pound wide receiver out of The First Academy in Orlando, Fla., has announced that he flipped from rival Alabama to play for Auburn on the Plains.

A 3-star, Williams had been committed to the Crimson Tide since July, but a last-second push by Auburn seemed to win him over.

Immediate connection with Golesh, Kodi Burns

“Coach Golesh and his coaches started to show me interest the second they got to Auburn,” Williams told Rivals. “The communication with Auburn really started while Coach Golesh was at USF, even tho he didn’t know exactly where he was going to go. He kept telling me that I’m good no matter what.

“The reason I’ve chosen Auburn is because of the coaches. Coach Golesh and Coach Kodi Burns are the best out there. I’ve built a strong relationship with them as well as the rest of the staff, I love the offense they run and how they run their program.

Per his 247Sports scouting report, it seems that the Tigers might have found a diamond in the coal:

"Traits-heavy outside wide receiver with the length and athleticism to bake into a difference-maker, but one where the on-field production has yet to really materialize. Looks the part with a lanky frame that stretches close to 6-foot-4 and pairs the outstanding size with green speed and explosion scores. Displays good initial burst off the line and will sink his hips to snap in and out of his breaks. Not the most physical player at this stage, but finds ways to beat man coverage with his quick feet and sharp releases. Missed time as a junior due to injury, but drew plenty of attention when he was in the lineup for Florida’s 7A runner-up. Must keep progressing and avoid further setbacks, but projects at this stage as a multi-year contributor at the Power Four level."

If he ends up signing with the Tigers, he will be the 13th signee of the day for Golesh, who had just three days to keep this class intact after being hired on Sunday.
