There's something about brothers when it comes to the 2026 Auburn recruiting class. Just hours after Shadarius and Shadrick Toodle signed with the Tigers, two other brothers, Corey and Chris Weels, have made a flip on the first day of the Early Signing Period to the Tigers.
Corey, a 4-star defensive lineman from Petal, Miss., announced his flip from Texas to Auburn at a press conference featuring the two brothers. The 6-foot-5, 330-pound prospect had been committed to the Longhorns since June, but Vontrell King-Williams, Auburn's defensive line coach, stayed in touch and telling him why the Plains would be the best choice.

"The people, the coaches," Corey said about why he chose Auburn. "Everybody here is just so welcoming. Everybody here just loves you because of who you are."
Chris Wells, a 3-star linebacker, was offered by Auburn in August, but until today, he had stayed committed to South Alabama. After that scholarship was offered, Corey spoke on how important it would be if the two brothers could play together in college.
"Oh, it's important," Corey said. "They're recruiting him as hard as they're recruiting me. It's like not they're recruiting him because of me. They're recruiting him because they see the talent he has."
