The Auburn football coaching staff has been recruiting hard as the team goes through winter workouts in preparation for spring practice. Prospects have been visiting the Plains and setting up official visits for later in the spring and summer, including 4-star cornerback J'Vari Flowers.
Flowers made the decision in January to reclassify from the recruiting class of 2026 to the class of 2025, and since then, his recruitment has been moving quickly. One of the top cornerbacks in the nation, he is ranked as the No. 82 overall player and No. 12 cornerback in the class of 2025 and is the No. 12 recruit out of the state of Florida.
A native of Miami, Florida, the Hurricanes have been pushing hard for Flowers and are one of his final six schools, alongside Auburn, North Carolina, Syracuse, Georgia, and Florida.
The cornerback made an official visit to Auburn over the weekend, and it was his first ever trip to the Plains.
"I had expectations, but that blew everything out of the water," Flowers said, per Auburn Rivals. "You know, I came to see how they were working, they were competitive, they competed in everything they do. And it's a family. I could feel the energy."
Flowers got to check out the Auburn facilities and spend time with his would-be position coach Wesley McGriff, and even got to chat with head coach Hugh Freeze, who told the CB he is ready to take Auburn back to the top as a winning program. Flowers is set to take official visits to Notre Dame, Florida, and Miami this month and expects to have a final decision on March 31.
"Auburn definitely shot to the top," Flowers said. "They're one of the top (schools)...Every school that says they're a family, but at Auburn, you can feel the family love going around."
