Over the weekend, the Auburn football program hosted a group of prospects on campus for a big recruiting weekend. One of the visitors in attendance was a highly sought-after wide receiver, 5-star Cederian Morgan.
From Alexander City, Alabama, just half an hour up the road from the Plains, Morgan is ranked as the No. 18 overall recruit and the No. 3 wide receiver in the recruiting class of 2026. He is the No. 2 recruit out of Alabama.
Morgan had the chance to get a closer look at the team during a scrimmage at Saturday's practice, and although he had been to campus plenty of times, he spent this trip focusing on how the wide receivers and quarterbacks were coached during the practice.
"How they're getting coached, what plays they're running," Morgan said, per Auburn Rivals. "How they work in different ways to find the players that they need and want to get the ball, how they maneuver in them and get open, stuff like that."
Auburn football wide receivers coach Marcus Davis has been recruiting Morgan hard since his freshman year, and the pair have grown close over the last few years. This relationship has been a major factor in Morgan's interest in the Tigers.
"I feel like that communication and connection, relationship with him will always be there," Morgan said. "Whether I come to Auburn or if I don't, I feel like I always can go turn and talk to Coach Davis for anything."
Though Morgan likes what he sees from Auburn football, the Tigers will have some serious competition when it comes to securing his commitment. Morgan plans to officially visit Alabama, Colorado, Clemson, Georgia, and Florida in addition to Auburn this summer, and hopes to have a final decision on July 2 following those visits.
