In a shocking move, the Auburn football team has officially added a quarterback to its recruiting class of 2026.
On Thursday, On3 Recruits' Hayes Fawcett broke the news on X, announcing that 4-star quarterback Peyton Falzone had flipped from Penn State to Auburn football. From Nazareth, PA, Falzone had been committed to the Nittany Lions since early April when he earned an offer from the Tigers at the beginning of this month. Now, seemingly out of nowhere, Falzone is set to play for Auburn football.
Falzone is ranked as the No. 183 overall recruit and the No. 11 quarterback in the recruiting class of 2026 by 247 Sports, and is the No. 4 recruit out of his home state. He took official visits to Penn State, Utah and Iowa earlier this spring as a Nittany Lion commit.
Auburn Undercover reports that over his last two high school football seasons, Falzone has tallied 4,663 yards and 42 passing touchdowns and an additional 1,137 rushing yards and 19 rushing touchdowns. He has recorded only eight interceptions and is throwing at a 57 percent completion rate.
Adding a quarterback to the recruiting class of 2026 is a big boost for Auburn football, which has been struggling in terms of recruiting lately after losing three commits to neighboring schools over the past few weeks. With a quarterback locked in, things may pick up for the Tigers heading into the season. For now, the Auburn football class of 2026 contains seven commits and is ranked No. 77 overall.
