Cam Coleman is not transferring. While the Phenix City product didn't quite have the freshman year many thought he could in 2024, Auburn's highest-rated receiver recruit of the Hugh Freeze era figures to be one of Jackson Arnold's top targets this season.

If Arnold and Coleman don't develop chemistry, perhaps this conversation can be revisited. As of right now, it's a non-starter.

Even if Coleman decided to test the April transfer portal cycle, Bama Hammer's Ronald Evans doesn't believe the Crimson Tide would even need him in 2026 after sitting out a year due to SEC rules about transferring in-conference.

Evans took it a step further, claiming Coleman could actually hurt team chemistry at Alabama.

"For those patiently waiting for the promised insight in this post. It is Alabama Football does not need Cam Coleman. If he did enter the Transfer Portal, he would have to sit out the 2025 season before playing for another SEC school in 2026. Even if that SEC rule didn't exist, Alabama has no room for him. Ryan Grubb and JaMarcus Shephard have such much wide receiver talent outside the Tide's top six, adding another would make no sense," Evans wrote.

"Alabama is loaded at wide receiver. So much so, six or possibly seven will be rotated. The best will see the field and hopefully, other potential starters in 2026 will choose to return. Adding a Cam Coleman or any other transfer wideout could damage team chemistry."

It's possible that adding Coleman could disrupt Alabama's chemistry. Then again, the Crimson Tide brings in top recruits at every position to compete every year. It wouldn't be any different with Coleman in 2026, when the top players in Alabama's receiving corps won't likely be the top guys now.

Crimson Tide fans can claim they don't want Coleman all they want. He has proven time and again that he doesn't want them either.
