When Elijah Haven announced his commitment date, it was yet another step in the right direction for the Auburn Tigers and their head coach, Alex Goelsh.

As one of just three teams still under consideration by Haven, the No. 1 quarterback in the class of 2027, it was a huge accomplishment for Golesh to still have the Tigers in the mix.

However, one of the other schools was none other than the Alabama Crimson Tide, and according to many recruiting experts, it was only sounding more and more likely that Haven was heading to Tuscaloosa instead of Auburn.

The Georgia Bulldogs are the third team that Haven is deciding between, putting all of his chips in the SEC basket, but according to On3's recruiting experts, the Crimson Tide has a nearly 98 percent chance of landing his commitment.

Haven set his decision day as April 25, giving Golesh and the Tigers just under two more weeks to try to lure him in their direction, and away from two of their biggest rivals, mainly their in-state rival.

As the No. 1 quarterback in the upcoming recruiting cycle and the No. 11 overall prospect, Haven received offers from powerhouse programs across the country, including the Ohio State Buckeyes, Miami Hurricanes, and even his home-state team, the LSU Tigers.

However, he seemed to easily narrow it down to Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia, giving both coaches a big reason to put all of their own chips into his basket.

So far, Golesh has earned just two commitments from the class of 2027, including four-star defensive lineman Donivan Moore and three-star tight end Tank Proctor.

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer has received four commitments, including another blue-chip quarterback in four-star Trent Seaborn, who is a top-20 QB in the class.
