Just an hour or so after 5-star Bralan Womack flipped his commitment from Auburn to Mississippi State, 4-star quarterback Peyton Falzone has had a change of heart about coming to the Plains.

According to Rivals' Hayes Fawcett, Falzone, an Auburn commit since June, has decommitted from the Tigers just a day after Alex Golesh was announced as the new head coach for Auburn.

It's a quick change of hearts for the Pennsylvania native, who met with Golesh on Sunday night and stated that he was still planning on signing with the Tigers on Wednesday.

“Everything is all ready to go,” he said. “I’m looking forward to signing on Wednesday and hitting the ground running.”

Originally committed to Virginia Tech, Falzone flipped his commitment to Penn State before ultimately deciding to commit to Hugh Freeze and the Tigers. With Freeze now gone and Golesh in charge, the 20th-ranked quarterback in the 2026 class changed his mind, with the Nittany Lions, still without a head coach, trending for his signature.

Auburn athletic director John Cohen announced Golesh as the 33rd head coach on Monday afternoon. The 41-year-old Golesh is known as one of the best young offensive minds in college football, with his USF offense finishing the regular season ranked second in the FBS, averaging 501.7 yards per game.

Falzone's decision might be good news for Auburn, though, as Ashton Daniels and Deuce Knight are set to return for the Tigers in the quarterback room, and there is a chance that Byrum Brown, Golesh's quarterback this past season with the Bulls, could follow him to the Plains. Brown threw for 3,158 yards and 28 touchdowns this season, while also rushing for 14 more scores. He has one year of eligibility left and could compete with Daniels and Knight for the starting job at Auburn in 2026.
