Spring is right around the corner which means Auburn softball and baseball are back on the Plains. Both teams saw plenty of action over the weekend, with baseball at home in Auburn and softball away. Here's how the weekend went for both teams.

Auburn baseball

The Auburn baseball team opened its 2025 season with a three-game series in Plainsman Park against Holy Cross. The Tigers won the series but dropped one game to the Crusaders.

Things kicked off on Friday as the Tigers played for the first time in the newly-renovated Plainsman Park in front of the largest crowd the stadium has ever seen. Auburn won the game 4-1 and logged nine hits and four RBIs.

Saturday didn't go as well as the Tigers struggled to pick things up on offense. Auburn had only five hits and one RBI, and ultimately lost 2-4 to the Crusaders. In the series-deciding game on Sunday the Tigers had no problem on offense, beating Holy Cross 14-6 after knocking in five runs in the sixth inning and three more in the seventh.

The team returns to action on Tuesday against Troy at home.

Meanwhile, Auburn softball traveled to Florida this weekend for the Clearwater Invitational. The Tigers played six games this weekend and won every single one.

On Thursday, the Tigers took down Clemson in a 6-3 win to start the weekend strong. Friday, they beat Virginia 7-6 in eight innings before earning a 1-0 victory over UCF. Saturday's first win was 14-11 over Charlotte before the Tigers battled No. 9 Oklahoma State and pulled off a 2-1 win.

On Sunday, Auburn completed its Clearwater Invitational sweep with a 2-1 victory over Liberty. 11-0 Auburn softball is off to its best start since 2018, when the team started the season 15-0.

Up next is a trip to Huntsville, where the Tigers will play five different opponents over three days in the Rocket City Showcase.
