On November 13, Auburn basketball landed a massive commitment from Kaden Magwood, a four-star, nationally seventh-ranked guard from North Carolina. Many Auburn fans think that’ll be the Tigers’ last big acquisition, but Bruce Pearl may not be done just yet.

Kaden Magwood made headlines playing in the Overtime Elite League, a platform for all the best hoopers in the world to challenge and learn from each other.

From that same league comes Samis Calderon, a four-star forward.

The six-foot-eight, 200-pounder hails from Atlanta, Georgia, where he’s ranked the seventh-best player in the state. Additionally, 247Sports lists Calderon as the twelfth-best forward in the country, a fact that is bolstered by his OTE stats: 22.5 points per 40 minutes, along with 6.7 assists and rebounds.

Best of all? The Tigers rank in Calderon's top four.

Additionally, Shon Abaev has also made waves in the OTE league. Despite having just played two games, Abaev averages 31.5 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game, and 4.5 assists per game, with a 38.1% three-point shooting percentage. He ranks as the sixth-best forward in the country.

Abaev has been described as “one of the most polished one-on-one scorers in the national class. A big southpaw wing, with good positional size and an increasingly strong body, he's a volume scorer who is capable of creating his own shot at virtually any time, including against a set half-court defense,” per 247Sports’ Director of Scouting.

Auburn ranks in Abaev’s top five.

Auburn basketball offers a chance to learn from veterans, play right away

While they’re currently undecided, these players will be a massive part of whichever squad they choose to join—perhaps most of all at Auburn, where they’ll get experience on the court but also be led and mentored by the Tigers’ predominantly veteran lineup.
