As the book closes on another Auburn basketball season, coaches, players, and fans walk away sad as the Tigers were unable to get the win over the Florida Gators. With many players leaving with the season over, this is a team that will forever be remembered, especially coming back after a first-round loss in the NCAA Tournament last season to Yale.
The Tigers were the No. 1 overall seed and spent the most time ranked No. 1 over any team this season. This team was special, and they left it all out on the court. There will always be things people will say they could have done better, plays head coach Bruce Pearl should have called, or even found referees should have called, but at the end of the day, Florida walked away with the 79-73 win and is going to the National Championship.
After the loss, some Auburn fans were quick to jump to conclusions and place blame, but most fans decided to show pride and love instead of hate, thanking the team for everything they did this season.

Two legendary Auburn players embrace after the game. Charles Barkley has been on this journey with Auburn throughout the season and the NCAA Tournament, cheering for this team the whole way. Johni Broome will go down in Auburn basketball history, and these two embracing after the game warms the heart of every Auburn fan.
I know I may be one of few to say something like this, but congrats to Auburn on a heck of a season. More than what 100+ other teams did. Congrats to them.

Last I checked, the Final Four is something hundreds of other teams didn't get to, so before fans start bashing the team for not winning, remember that they did a lot better than many other teams and they worked hard to get to this point.
Special team. Very proud to be an Auburn alum.

Say it louder for the people in the back!
Tough loss. Incredible year. Hasn’t set in yet that it’s over. Dylan, Johni, Denver, C Mo, Chaney……. It’s so weird thinking we won’t see these guys play together again. Truly enjoyed watching this team play together. Bruce Pearl is the man.

This was a special team with special players, and to think they won't be on the court next season is a sad thing, but this is the unfortunate thing about college sports.
Thank you for everything Broome

Johni Broome, thanks for coming back to Auburn this year and giving us a chance to play for everything. We will miss you 4.

Broome was a game-changer for Auburn this season and without him coming back, this team could have looked very different.
Props to Auburn. Best team all year but just ran into a juggernaut in Florida.

Hats off to Florida, they were simply just the better team tonight, but that doesn't mean Auburn isn't a good team either.
All of us losing our minds over a basketball game let’s not be quick to forget we were absolute shit before Bruce got here. I want us to give him his flowers. Yeah the questionable bullshit calls that we can all talk about but 2 Final Fours at Auburn….come on now. War Eagle

Bruce Pearl has certainly been a big part of the change in this program's history, adn without him, who knows where the Tigers would be? Two Final Fours are very impressive, and with the talent coming in the coming years, Pearl will certainly have a lot in store for this team.
