Recently, we took on the task of ranking each of Auburn's 2026 opponents from easiest to hardest. Now, we'll look at the implications of that slate and take a shot at predicting exactly how the Tigers will fare this season.

Game 1: vs Baylor (Neutral site in Atlanta) - WIN

The Dave Aranda era has brought wild swings from year to year for Baylor. After a 12-win high in 2021, the Bears have been trending reliably downwards. It's unlikely that DJ Lagway is the answer for a program that is due for an overhaul. This should be an exciting non-conference win to kick off the Alex Golesh era on the Plains.

Game 2: vs Southern Miss - WIN

It'll be key to see how Auburn starts this game. Coming off of a big season-opener and looking ahead to SEC play the following week, there's a threat of the Tigers being flat here. Southern Miss likely won't beat even a down Auburn team, but it wouldn't be too surprising to see a slow start and a smaller margin than expected heading into halftime.

Game 3: vs Florida - WIN

Two first-year head coaches will square off here in a game that won't get nearly enough national hype (which is understandable, considering this is the same day Lane Kiffin returns to Ole Miss). In Gainesville, Jon Sumrall is facing similar expectations to Golesh, and 2026 could end up being the beginning of a return to relevance for both programs. Auburn gets the edge here due to offensive continuity and home-field advantage.

Game 4: vs Vanderbilt - WIN

The Commodores will likely be starting a true freshman here in Jared Curtis. He was a five-star prospect and has all the potential in the world, but there will still be plenty of kinks to be worked out, especially this early in the season. In terms of home-field advantages, it doesn't get much tougher than Jordan-Hare, so this is looking like a competitive matchup, but ultimately a victory for the Tigers.

Game 5: @ Tennessee - LOSS

If Josh Heupel's track record holds true, this should be a shootout in Knoxville. This will be a huge test of how good this offense is against the best of the SEC. While hopes are high for this Tiger team, it'll be tough to go to Tennessee and pull off a victory.

This begins an extremely difficult mid-season stretch for Auburn. They won't get out of it unscathed, but they'll certainly put up a fight.

Game 6: @ Georgia - LOSS

There's no way around it, the Bulldogs have absolutely owned Auburn in recent years. At some point, that trend will reverse itself, but the Tigers aren't quite there yet. Georgia is one of the country's elite teams, and playing this game in Athens makes it an even tougher proposition.

Game 7: vs LSU - WIN

Games five through eight are an absolutely brutal stretch for Auburn, but they could be capable of pulling out a victory in one of these games. The best bet for victories here in the middle of the year is this LSU matchup for a multitude of reasons. Primarily, the Tigers are at home. We all know just how much of a home-field advantage Auburn has at home.

The other factor here is the unknown with LSU. This offense is a patchwork of transfer portal players, and while the same could be said for Auburn, there's much less continuity on the Bayou. While Golesh brought his quarterback with him from South Florida, Lane Kiffin's old passer is still in Oxford. Instead, running the offense in Baton Rouge will be Sam Leavitt.

Game 8: @ Ole Miss - LOSS

So, about Kiffin's old quarterback.

Trinidad Chambliss could be the face of college football this season, according to Kirk Herbstreit. That's a warranted prediction, given his explosion onto the scene a year ago. In 2015, Chambliss threw for 3,937 yards and 22 touchdowns, and added 527 and eight on the ground. Given Auburn's concerns along the front four, as well as its occasional struggles with tackling, this could end up being a huge day for the Rebel quarterback.

Game 9: vs Arkansas - WIN

The Razorbacks have been a mess for several years now, and new coach Ryan Silverfield doesn't inspire a ton of confidence in this program making a sudden turnaround in 2026. Auburn doesn't have Arkansas' number the way it did during the Gus Malzahn days, but this should be a win for the Tigers, especially at home.

Game 10: @ Mississippi State - WIN

The cowbells in Starkville are always annoying, and a road trip in the SEC is nothing to scoff at, but Auburn should still expect to win this game. The Tigers are the much more talented team on paper, and by the tenth game of the season, a lot of the adjustments that first-year coaches are required to make will have already happened. By now, Auburn will be a strong, cohesive team, and that will be shown with a road victory to bring the program back to bowl eligibility.

Game 11: vs Samford - WIN

Like Southern Miss, the only possible scare here is that Auburn shows up flat and takes a quarter before it blows the game wide open. Obviously a look-ahead spot for the Tigers with Alabama on the horizon, but Auburn will still take care of business here.

Game 12: @ Alabama - LOSS

In Jordan-Hare, it'd be realistic to say Auburn has a shot here. At Bryant-Denny, it's a different story. Unfortunately, this one's at Bryant-Denny. The Tigers have lost seven straight in Tuscaloosa, with their last victory coming in the 2010 "Camback." Even when the matchup looks lopsided on paper, the Iron Bowl has consistently been competitive on the Plains, but the same can't be said in the other direction.

Final Record Prediction: 8-4

This is, admittedly, an optimistic view of the season for Auburn. Most prognosticators expect 7-5, and Vegas has the Tigers' win total set at 6.5, so 8-4 would be the record of an overperforming Auburn team. Losses to Georgia and Alabama will be the next big hill to climb, but this would be a move in a very exciting direction for this program.
