4-star cornerback Danny Odem is scheduled to announce his commitment decision soon on June 23, and after a visit to the Plains, it's possible he commits to Auburn football.

From Orlando, Florida, Odem is ranked as the No. 253 overall recruit and the No. 22 cornerback in the recruiting class of 2026. He is the No. 40 prospect out of the Sunshine State and has received offers from 50 schools around the country. A month ago, Auburn wasn't even in Odem's top eight schools, but now the cornerback says the Tigers are one of the finalists.

"When I put my top teams, Auburn wasn't in there," Odem said, per Auburn Rivals. "Now, in my final decision, Auburn is one of my top teams."

Odem's official visit last week was his first ever trip to the Plains, organized after he was visited by Auburn cornerbacks coach Wesley McGriff. He was pleasantly surprised by his experience with Auburn football and enjoyed spending time with the players and coaches.

"It was very impressive," Odem said. "It was way better than what I thought. I thought it was in the middle of nowhere. So it shocked me...The town, the campus, the facilities and stuff. It's a great college town."

Odem is set to make a final decision on June 23 after completing all of his official visits. Oklahoma got the first official visit from the cornerback, followed by a trip to the Plains. He will officially visit Ohio State this weekend before traveling to Penn State and then Nebraska before announcing his commitment at the end of the month.

Though the Tigers are competing with several other top-tier programs for the elite cornerback, one thing stands out about Auburn football:

"Just SEC football," Odem said. "They won national championships, so that means it can be done again. Just trying to see what the program has done with the past so I know what they can do in the future."
