Gadsden City's Sam Sollie chose Auburn as his collegiate home on Saturday. Being the first of the class means every offensive skill player is looking at you when considering the Plains. Sollie's commitment changes the game for Auburn, so much so that now you have the 2028 No.1 TE, Kaleb Ballard, looking into Auburn as well.
The Tigers were already looking at Nehemiah McCary, but to potentially add Ballard too, 2028’s class could be bonkers.
Ballard, the six-foot-five, 220-pound 4-star from Wetumpka, Alabama, is now interested in Auburn. Showing his love for Alex Golesh, Ballard shared a bold statement backing practically everything Golesh has done this offseason.
“I love everything (Golesh) is doing with the team–taking them to the hotel, letting them be able to focus through fall camp so there are no distractions," Ballard said.

Calling Auburn soft might be the reason why Ballard chooses the Plains when he does decide. Just to prove you wrong because he actually sees the change happening here.

Golesh just keeps chipping away with these victories that seem small, but are actually so much bigger in the grand scheme. Dominating the state in recruiting is a big deal when you really only have one competitor, and it's your blood rival.
Seeing things like this must terrify Alabama fans, knowing that this has to be the year Kalen DeBoer gets it done, or else he'll face a seat hotter than Lucifer's in Tuscaloosa. What would Alabama do if they lost the majority of their home-state recruiting to their rival? That would be embarrassing enough to make people forget their playoff loss to Indiana.
As previously mentioned, Golesh and company were already looking into McCary, the No. 2 linebacker in the 2028 class, per Rivals. If they could potentially add Ballard and McCary after already landing Sollie, Auburn's 2028 recruiting class could be a top-five class.
