Another Auburn Tiger is coming home to the Plains! New head coach Alex Golesh has brought on former team captain and letterwinner Jeris McIntyre as the Director of Football and Alumni Relations.
McIntyre will serve as the Auburn football program's liaison to former players and lettermen in his new position.
"I wanted someone in this role who knows Auburn, understands Auburn, and can be a great connection for us to our former players,” Golesh said of the hire. “Jeris is elite in everything he does, including building relationships. He has the right experience, and he truly loves Auburn. I know he's a perfect fit for this role and our staff."
McIntyre spent the 2024-2025 season as Director of High School Relations at UCF after many years coaching youth football and a 10-year career as a high school football coach.
He lettered for Auburn from 2000 to 2003 as a wide receiver, and he led the team in receiving yards in 2003, the same year he was voted team captain. He was drafted in the sixth round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. He spent two seasons with the Chiefs, and also spent time playing for NFL Europe, CFL and Arena Football.
McIntyre is the second former Auburn Tiger to join Golesh's new coaching staff, alongside Kodi Burns, who was also a wide receiver for the Tigers.
"I am Extremely Excited and Blessed to be joining the Auburn football Staff," wrote McIntyre on his X account. "Special thanks to Coach Golesh for this amazing opportunity."
