In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, a tight end sets an official visit to the Plains, and a 4-star DL thinks highly of Auburn football
The Auburn football program has locked in an official visit for the No. 1 recruit out of the state of Iowa. 4-star tight end Evan Jacobson will make his way to the Plains this summer on June 13 for an official visit with the Tigers. He is ranked as the No. 13 tight end in the recruiting class of 2026.
With over 25 offers, the Tigers are competing with a lot of top programs for Jacobson's commitment, including Penn State, Ohio State, and Baylor, and just last week, he earned an offer from National Championship runner-up Notre Dame.
Ahead of his official visit to Auburn, Jacobson will have already visited the Plains several times, including for the Tigers' big Junior Day event at the end of January.
4-star DL thinks highly of Auburn football
On the other side of the ball, the Tigers are working hard to recruit one of the top defensive linemen in the nation. 4-star Bryce Perry-Wright is ranked as the No. 2 defensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2026 and the No. 7 player out of Georgia.
Perry-Wright was on Auburn's campus at the end of last month for an unofficial visit during the Tigers' Junior Day.
"The game, I just kicked it with the coaches," Perry-Wright said on activities he did on the visit, per Auburn Rivals. "Got in a vibe with the coaches, talked to them again. Even though I'd just seen them maybe two or three days [prior]. Having that same vibe with them, building that relationship stronger and stronger was a great feeling, too."
The DL went on to say that although he doesn't have a ranked list yet, the Tigers sit "pretty high" in his recruitment. He has a slate of official visits set for the summer, according to his profile on 247Sports, which includes trips to Auburn, Clemson, Texas, Georgia and Texas A&M.
