In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, a 4-star wide receiver commits to Auburn football, and the date for the A-Day game is set

With the recruiting class of 2025 mostly finalized, the Auburn football coaching staff has turned its attention to the class of 2026. Over the weekend, the recruiting class picked up another commit with the addition of 4-star wide receiver Devin Carter.

From Douglasville, Georgia, Carter is ranked as the #4 wide receiver in the class of 2026 and the #4 recruit out of the Peach State. He announced his decision during the U.S. Navy All-American Bowl, selecting the Tigers over Ohio State, LSU, and Alabama. He was originally committed to Florida State but reopened his recruitment almost a year ago.

"The family feel I first got when I first got on campus and it continued throughout my high school career," Carter said on why he chose Auburn, per Auburn Rivals. "Every time I go to Auburn, I get excited and it’s a family feel."

Auburn Football's recruiting class of 2026 now holds 6 commits and is ranked #6 overall. Carter is the second WR to commit, joining 3-star Denairius Gray, who committed to Auburn on New Year's Day earlier this month.

Date for the A-Day game is set

The Auburn football program has officially announced the date for the annual spring scrimmage. The Tigers, including the transfers and many of the incoming freshmen, will hit the field in Jordan-Hare Stadium on April 12 for the A-Day game.

The A-Day game will mark the end of the Tigers' 15 spring practices, and although this year's schedule has yet to be announced, Auburn football will likely begin in February as last year's spring practices started on February 27.

The spring semester for Auburn begins today, and the Tigers will begin to report for winter workouts.
