In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, head coach Bruce Pearl adds another commit to the basketball roster and Kayin Lee talks about freshman Demarcus Riddick's first start
Over the weekend, the Auburn basketball team picked up their third commit in the recruiting class of 2025 with the addition of Sebastian Williams-Adams. The 4-star power forward out of Houston, Texas, announced his commitment to head coach Bruce Pearl and the Tigers live on the 247 Sports YouTube channel.
Williams-Adams chose the Tigers over Oklahoma State, Vanderbilt and Purdue, and officially visited several other big programs throughout his recruitment.
"Auburn has a history," Williams-Adams said after his official visit this fall, per Auburn Undercover. "Coach Pearl has explained to me several times about their big guards and forwards. They have made it seem like a family environment, not just a recruiting trip. It has kind of just been coach Pearl hanging out with us.
"Ever since the Top 100 Camp, he has not let it be lost on me that he wants me here and he believes he's the one to get me to the next level. Having that type of confidence from a coach is really refreshing and exciting."
Kayin Lee talks about freshman Demarcus Riddick's first start
It was a big day for true freshman Demarcus Riddick. The linebacker has seen plenty of game action this season but got his first start on Saturday against ULM, where he recorded two tackles for loss and a sack.
Riddick has become a mainstay in the rotation for the defense after a monster performance against Oklahoma earlier this year and has racked up 17 tackles, including four for a loss. His contributions have impressed his teammates, including cornerback Kayin Lee.
“Demarcus, he a dog," Lee said postgame, per Auburn Rivals. "He had that dog in him, so he just got to keep that up. We're behind him. Everybody on the team believes in him, so he's got to keep that up, and it’s helping the team most definitely.”
The Tigers return to action for their last home game this Saturday when they host Texas A&M.
