In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, the basketball team prepares for tonight's season opener and twin defensive linemen are interested in the Tigers

Tonight, Auburn basketball returns. The Tigers will host Vermont in Auburn Arena to kick off the season after their exhibition victory over Florida Atlantic last Friday.

"We didn't treat it like an exhibition game," head coach Bruce Pearl said, per Auburn Undercover. "Florida Atlantic was an NCAA Tournament team from a year ago, they were pretty fired up. I don't want an emotional letdown — in other words, there's no disguising the fact that we played well. We played really well. To me, I wish we hadn't played quite so well. It's going to be hard to play better than we did."

But Pearl believes that tonight's game will be more of a challenge for the Tigers and is reminded of a recent opponent when thinking about Vermont.

"Vermont is very Yale-like," Pearl said. "Which should concern us all."

Auburn basketball will tipoff against Vermont this evening at 7:00 p.m.

Twin defensive linemen are interested in the Tigers

It may not have been a big weekend for Auburn football on the field, but it was a big weekend on the recruiting trail. For the first time, the Tigers hosted twin defensive linemen, Aiden and Andrew Harris, from Matthews, North Carolina.

The pair were supposed to visit South Carolina on Saturday, but Auburn football defensive line coach Vontrell King-Williams convinced them to make the trip to the Plains instead.

"He’s an amazing person," Andrew said, per Auburn Rivals. "Carries himself well as a coach, as you see today. They lost the game today, but he still carried himself as a good person, as a good human being. Trying to coach his team up, coach his players up, that’s what I’m looking for in a coach, just not giving up on their players."

The brothers spent time with coaches and commits over the weekend, and they are close to making their decision. Between proximity to their family, the SEC environment, and the bond with the coaches, it's looking good for Auburn football and the Harris twins.
