For the first time this season, the Auburn basketball team lost a game, and it was served up on the road by the #9 Duke Blue Devils. Though the Tigers played a strong game, Duke rallied back throughout the entire matchup and Auburn just couldn't overcome their momentum.

According to head coach Bruce Pearl, it was still a good experience for his team, and can be a motivator for the guys moving forward.

"I think it's really valuable," Pearl said, per Auburn Undercover. "I hope what they take is we did not play our A-game. We probably played a B-minus game. Duke had a lot to do with it. But we've got to leave here thinking that we should've played better, turned them over more, not gotten beat on the boards as much as we did, and we get out of here with a win.

"So I think the stuff that we didn't do, I think we can control."

Hugh Freeze on Deuce Knight

The Tigers got their quarterback yesterday on early signing day. After flipping 5-star quarterback Deuce Knight from Notre Dame, head coach Hugh Freeze and the Auburn football staff managed to hold on until he put pen to paper, and now it's official.

Freeze said that since he arrived on the Plains, Knight was his favorite candidate for the Tiger's quarterback signee and that he sees a lot of one of his former QBs, Malik Willis, in Knight, especially when it comes to humility and confidence. Freeze sees a bright future for the Mississippi native.

"I think his ceiling is probably the highest of anybody that I’ve initially worked with," Freeze said, per Auburn Rivals. "He’s just so long and rangy, he can run and arm strength. He’s got all of those skill sets. How quick can he pick up on the college game and the speed of it at this level? We’ll see."
