In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, Butch Thompson speaks about his team's first away games, and Arizona and Auburn basketball have set a home-and-home series
The Auburn baseball team has gotten off to a strong 8-1 start this season, but they will hit the road for the first time this weekend. The Tigers will face off against Ohio State, Oregon State, and Baylor in San Antonio, Texas, in the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series presented by Kubota at Globe Life Field.
"We'll learn more about our ballclub," Thompson said, per Auburn Undercover. "That's why you take these trips. That's why you create these experiences, to see if we can get connected and get on the road and keep trying to play some consistent baseball with maybe some different distractions and different scenery."
The Tigers played Ohio State on Friday and will take on Oregon State at 6:00 p.m. today and Baylor at 3:00 p.m. tomorrow.
Arizona and Auburn basketball set home-and-home series
At the beginning of the season, the Auburn basketball team played a grueling non-conference schedule that helped them develop one of the most impressive resumes in all of college basketball. It seems like next season's non-conference schedule will be nothing to laugh at, either.
Earlier this week, it was announced that Arizona and Auburn basketball have officially set up a home-and-home series for the 2025-26 season. The Tigers will travel first, heading to Tucson to play on December 6, 2025, at the McKale Center. The date for the Wildcats' trip to the Plains has yet to be determined.
Auburn and Arizona have faced off only twice, and the Tigers won both matchups. The most recent was in November of 2018 when the Tigers beat Arizona 73-57 in the Maui Invitational. The teams also played each other in the first round of the 1986 NCAA tournament.
