In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, the football team adds a new front office staffer. In addition, the Tigers will play Middle Tennessee in 2027

On Tuesday morning, the Auburn football team hired former Arkansas Director of Player Personnel Jovon Hubbard to be the team's assistant general manager.

Hubbard has previously worked with Auburn head coach at Hugh Freeze for three seasons at Liberty before joining Sam Pittman's staff at Arkansas in 2023. According to Auburn Sports, Hubbard is expected to play a big role in the office of Auburn football General Manager Will Redmond.

He played a major role in Arkansas' recruiting over the last two years and is expected to help the Tigers pick things up with their 2026 class, which is currently ranked No. 75 overall and No. 15 in the conference.

Meanwhile, the Auburn football team has also added a new opponent to its 2027 schedule. For the first time, the Tigers will face off against Middle Tennessee next year at Jordan-Hare Stadium, and MTSU reports the game will take place on September 11.

The Blue Raiders are coached by former Auburn defensive coordinator Derek Mason, who is heading into his second season at Middle Tennessee, and the team's offensive line is coached by former Auburn football player Kendall Simmons.

So far, Middle Tennessee is the Tigers' first non-conference opponent to be announced for the 2027 season. This year's non-conference opponents are Baylor, Ball State, South Alabama and Mercer.
