In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, we look at how to watch Auburn basketball in the SEC Tournament, and a 3-star QB is planning his return trip to the Plains

Today, the Tigers will begin their run in the SEC Tournament. As the No. 1 seed in the conference tourney, Auburn basketball begins play in the quarterfinals against Ole Miss, who beat Arkansas in the second round on Thursday.

Auburn's game will be broadcast on ESPN at noon today. The first semifinal game will be played tomorrow at noon, and the second will be played 25 minutes after the first one ends. The championship game takes place at noon on Sunday, ahead of the 5:00 p.m. Selection Sunday show for March Madness. All of those games can be watched on ESPN.

3-star QB plans return trip to the Plains

Although recruiting is currently heating up for the class of 2026, the Auburn football coaching staff already has its eye on a quarterback in the recruiting class of 2027.

3-star quarterback Champ Smith, from Boca Raton, Florida, received an offer in-person from Auburn quarterbacks coach Kent Austin back in January, and last weekend he made his first trip to the Plains to check out the program and facilities. Smith said the highlight of his trip was getting to speak with the Tigers' quarterback coaches.

"One main thing I like about [Austin] is he played (quarterback)," Smith said, per Auburn Rivals. "He was a great coach and player in the CFL, and I think that’s very important because he’s played the position. He knows what it takes. Not like a rare occurrence, but like there's a lot of coaches who just never played. It's not a knock to them, but it's just something that they don't have in their resume. Coach Austin played and he experienced he actually played."

Smith plans to return to campus next month to watch a spring practice and is looking forward to spending more time on the Plains.
