The Auburn football program got a bit of good news this week with the announcement that veteran offensive lineman Jeremiah Wright will return to the Plains for another season and use his extra year of eligibility awarded due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wright, from Selma, Alabama, signed with the Tigers in the recruiting class of 2020. Though injuries held him back during his first few years on the Plains and he swapped between defensive and offensive line, he landed on the OL in the 2022 season. In 2024, Wright became a full-time starter at right guard, and he has appeared in 30 games in his career as a Tiger.

Dylan Cardwell reacts to his first double-double

In Auburn basketball's final non-conference game of the season, a big 87-58 win over Monmouth, senior Dylan Cardwell put up a stat line he had never recorded, a double-double. Though Cardwell has earned plenty of playing time throughout his 141-game career, he had previously only logged one double-digit rebounding game and three double-digit scoring games.

“It’s something I’ve prayed for, something that I just couldn’t grasp. It really frustrated me,” said Cardwell, per Auburn Rivals. “And at the end of the day, it’s not something I did differently. It’s something the Lord allowed.

“I’m just grateful I was on the receiving end of a double-double after seeing so many guys before me get double-doubles. I’m just grateful that it was my turn. It feels great.”

Cardwell recorded 12 points and 11 rebounds in the Tigers' matchup against Monmouth, and it was his 100th win as an Auburn Tiger, just 13 wins short of Jaylin Williams' record as the winningest player in Auburn basketball history.
