Auburn football players are high on this year's offensive line group

The offensive line position group has been a work in progress since head coach Hugh Freeze's arrival on the Plains. Auburn football had spent the past few years falling off in terms of recruiting offensive linemen, and there was a lot of work to be done.

While last year's offensive line was certainly an improvement from the year before, Auburn football players believe that this year's OL could be a difference maker for the team. Fifth-year junior Jeremiah Wright has been plagued with injuries during his time on the Plains and has done a lot of switching back and forth between offensive and defensive line.

Now, he is firmly settled in on the offense and has undergone his first full offseason since arriving at Auburn.

"We want to be real aggressive up front," Wright said, per Auburn Undercover. "We're translating over now that we've got some weapons on the outside and we want to throw the ball in the air, we've got some go-getters now. We're going to be able to do run and pass. But I know me, I'm aggressive and I've got a couple guys to my right and my left — Big Percy [Lewis] — we're ready to move some guys."

Sophomore running back Jeremiah Cobb was asked about the offensive line and noted that they will make a big difference in the Tigers' game this year.

“Definitely an improvement,” he said of the core of Connor Lew, Percy Lewis, Izavion Miller, Dillon Wade and Jeremiah Wright, per Auburn Live. “Those guys are moving bodies up there and executing everything, so it’s going to be a big difference.”

As fall camp continues, the Tigers took Thursday off and will return to practice Friday morning.
