In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, Kam Stutts returns to the football team as an assistant. In addition, women's basketball ended their season with a first-round loss in the SEC Tournament

After six seasons on the Plains, former offensive lineman Kam Stutts still has not grown tired of Auburn football. The former player and team captain is set to return to the program as a quality control assistant to offensive line coach Jake Thornton.

Stutts was part of the Auburn football team from 2018 to 2023 and spent his last two years as a starter at right guard. He was voted team captain by his teammates in 2023. He is a two-time graduate of Auburn University with a B.A. from the College of Education and a master's degree in business administration.

Women's basketball loses in first round of SEC Tournament

Auburn women's basketball ended their season earlier this week with a disappointing 60-50 loss to the Florida Gators in the first round of the SEC Tournament.

Though the Tigers beat the Gators in the regular season, they struggled to put up an offensive fight in the second half of the matchup. They end their season with a 12-18 overall record and a 3-13 record in the SEC.

Auburn transfer DeYona Gaston played her final game in orange and blue and logged her eighth double-double, leading the Tigers in scoring for the 23rd time this season with 16 points.

"This team continued to fight back," head coach Johnnie Harris said, per Auburn Undercover. "People didn't see the challenges we had. Missing starters. A lot of injuries. A lot of days where we didn't have players in practice. But they continued to bounce back.

"I'm really proud of them for staying the course and continuing to fight and bounce back. It was extremely challenging. It was not what we were planning for. It takes a level of toughness to do that when you have so much adversity. So I'm excited for the future of this team, the players we have coming in and the players we have coming back."
