In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, a top safety sets an official visit to the Plains, and the Tigers are pushing to flip a defensive lineman committed to Tennessee
Recruiting is in full swing for the Auburn football coaching staff, and they got another win with the confirmation that the No. 2 safety in the nation has locked in an official visit on the Plains.
From Flowood, Mississippi, 4-star safety Bralan Womack is ranked as the No. 24 overall player and the No. 2 safety in the recruiting class of 2026. He is the No. 2 recruit out of Mississippi.
Womack has scheduled four official visits to his four final schools and will make his way to Auburn's campus this summer on the weekend of June 13. He is also scheduled to visit Florida on May 30, Texas A&M on June 6, and Ohio State on June 20.
Tigers pushing to flip Tennessee DL commit
The Tigers' coaching staff is also working to lock down a more difficult target. 4-star defensive lineman Tyson Bacon has been committed to Tennessee since October 2024, but Auburn football has continued its pursuit.
From Hoover, Alabama, Bacon is ranked as the No. 35 defensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2026 and is the No. 13 recruit out of his home state. His recruitment has been ramping up as of late, adding around 15 offers in the last month alone.
Bacon was recently visited at his high school by Auburn football head coach Hugh Freeze and defensive line coach Vontrell King-Williams.
"It was great," Bacon said, per Auburn Rivals. "Coach Freeze is a funny guy. He's a very funny guy. I mean, he makes you feel very comfortable. Coach Vontrell, he has a great resume also. I mean, I train with Jayson Jones. You know, he's produced Freshman All-Americans. He's produced all-SECs. He's done a great job."
The DL plans to fully consider all of his options despite being committed to Tennessee, and will likely visit Auburn in the coming months.
