In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, two signees are named Navy All-Americans and Donovan Starr is named Tennessee Mr. Football

Auburn football signees are earning honors left and right as their high school careers come to a close. Earlier this week, two signees were named Navy All-Americans. The 2025 Navy All-American Bowl will be played in San Antonio on January 11.

The first future Tigers to be presented with an All-American jersey is 4-star ATH/wide receiver Derick Smith from Selma, Alabama. Smith and his twin brother both signed with Auburn football earlier this month. He is ranked as the #2 ATH in his recruiting class and the #4 player out of Alabama.

"It feels good," said Smith, per Auburn Undercover. "Being from where I'm from, nobody gets to do that."

The other is 5-star defensive lineman Malik Autry. The Opelika, Alabama, native was an early commit to the Tigers' 2025 class and signed earlier this month. He is ranked as the #9 defensive lineman in his recruiting class and the #7 player out of Alabama.

"It means a lot," said Autry, per Auburn Undercover. "It's something all high school kids dream of. I'm just happy to be one of those guys to go out there and compete. I'm going to go out there and help my team win.

Donovan Starr is named Tennessee Mr. Football

Meanwhile, cornerback Donovan Starr was named Mr. Football in his home state of Tennessee. High school head coaches and media members nominate finalists from high school football programs across the state, and nationwide sportswriters choose the winner. The award goes to the best football player in each classification of high school football. Starr won for Division 1, 6A.

Starr is ranked as the #23 cornerback in his recruiting class and the #5 player out of Tennessee.
