In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, one commit is not shaken up by this weekend's loss, and Hugh Freeze gives injury updates on several players

It was a tough day for Auburn football. After last year's journey across the country to pull off a narrow win over the Cal Golden Bears, many assumed that the Tigers would come out ready to prove a point this year. Oh, how wrong.

The Auburn offense struggled mightily for the entire game, and one of the only highlights of the matchup was the fact that the defense was able to make second-half adjustments. Is the season tanked? Are the recruits going to decommit? It's not time to panic yet, and 4-star defensive tackle Malik Autry still sees a bright future on the Plains despite the 21-14 loss.

"I wouldn’t say that," said Autry on if his status with Auburn has changed, per Auburn Rivals. "I definitely wouldn’t say it shakes my commitment. It was a tough loss, but we got a great coaching staff who can turn it around and get it going in the right direction."

With the Cal game in the rearview mirror, the Tigers return to action to take on New Mexico this weekend.

Hugh Freeze gives injury updates on several players

Last week, two of the Tigers' starters suffered injuries in the matchup against Cal. Offensive lineman Izavion 'Too Tall' Miller and wide receiver Cam Coleman were both banged up Saturday, Miller dealing with a hip issue and Coleman with a shoulder issue.

Freeze indicated that though Miller has undergone MRIs and will not be out for the rest of the season it is likely he will not play next week after trying to play through his injury in the second half. On the other hand, Coleman wasn't injured until the final minutes of the game and is more likely to return to action against New Mexico.

"(Miller) tried to come back in — I think that was one of the hits Payton (Thorne) took right when he was throwing," Freeze said Monday, per Auburn Undercover. "He just couldn't move, he's got a hip issue. We've had the MRIs on both of them, it's nothing that's season-ending, thank God. Probably it will be difficult for Too Tall (Miller) to play. I'm not sure on Cam. It depends on how quickly he gets a range of motion in that shoulder."
