Last year, the Auburn Tigers under head coach Hugh Freeze opted to hold an open practice for the annual A-Day spring game like many other schools in order to manage injuries and implications for the transfer portal.
This year, the NCAA has changed the transfer portal rules, and there is only one window for athletes to enter, from Jan. 2 to Jan. 16. With the elimination of the spring portal window, the door has been opened for a return to traditional spring game formats, and the Auburn football program announced on Tuesday morning that the Tigers will do just that.
In Alex Golesh's first spring with the Tigers, the team will scrimmage in front of the Auburn Family to cap off spring practices on April 18 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets will go on sale on Feb. 3. According to the program, Tiger Walk will occur before the game, and players will be on the field after the game to sign autographs.
In addition to the spring game, the university is promoting A-Day Week, with a full nine days of festivities and athletic events. Below is the full schedule:
