This has to be the turnaround.
Commodores true freshman quarterback Jared Curtis makes his first road start this Saturday. The hope is that DJ Durkin's defense gets it together and makes sure to justify the 48-year-old's $2.7 million salary. Curtis may be tough to shut down, but he must be limited.
That has to be the outcome. The alternative is such a disaster.
If there are any silver linings from Week 3, it was Byrum Brown airing it out and finding Keshaun Singleton for 48 yards on his longest throw of the day, and Chas Nimrod on a 35-yarder. The offense looks like it's showing signs of life. Against a Vanderbilt defensive front that doesn't offer the same push as the Gators, perhaps the running back room could finally have a breakout performance.
Pride is on the line tomorrow afternoon. So is the fanbase's sanity. Golesh and Co. have too much to lose in this one, though it very well could be a close one.
