Bo Nix isn't worried about the Denver Broncos' critical Week 18 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. At least he was as convincing as humanly possible giving that impression while speaking on it New Year's Day.
“I think this lifestyle, this situation, there are some quarterbacks who just kind of live with pressure. That’s just kind of second nature at this point. I believe pressure is a privilege, and I was taught that a long time ago,” Nix said, per Denver Sports 104.3 The Fan.
“There’s no pressure without opportunity. Right now, that means we have a great opportunity to go do something special.
“It’s a really important thing, it’s a really important opportunity. We just have to finish. We have to finish the task at hand. It’s right there in front of us. We just have to go take it."
Nix has proven he's the long-term answer at QB for Denver this season, but blowing it against a Chiefs team that will be missing Patrick Mahomes as Andy Reid looks to rest his stars before the postseason would be a sour send-off to his rookie season.
It'd likely have Broncos fans thinking their franchise sold its soul for the 2016 Super Bowl if they don't finish the job. Bringing in Sean Payton was supposed to cure these ills, and if his hand-picked QB fails against an undermanned Chiefs team, he may begin to see a warmed-up seat in the Mile High City.
No pressure, though. At least according to Nix.
