Bo Nix still loves Auburn football, says QB coach also linked with Walker White and Deuce Knight

QB Country founder David Morris, who has Walker White and Deuce Knight as clients, revealed that his top client of the last few years, Bo Nix, still has a strong affection for the Auburn football program -- despite his decision to transfer as a grad student and end his collegiate career in Oregon.

“I connected them just to help bring familiarity. And also, just kind of trying to help connect people that are going through similar things,” Morris said to AL.com. “Bo was a quarterback at Auburn, obviously, loves that university and understands what it means to be a quarterback there.”

Nix famously told CBS Sports' Dennis Dodd in 2022 just before Bryan Harsin's firing that he was miserable playing for the Boise native during the 2021 season.

“Last year, I was just kind of over it," Nix said. "Each week it was something else. There was, quite frankly, nothing I could do about it. I just remember kind of being miserable. It wasn’t fun anymore.”

Nix has a strong relationship with White. Given the Morris connection, he'll probably have one with Knight soon too.

If you're not a QB country signal-caller, the future feels less certain on the Plains.

Hank Brown had the perfect AU debut in his home city of Nashville for the Music City Bowl but his first half against Arkansas is his new legacy. Holden Geriner hasn't been able to break through under Harsin or Hugh Freeze.

Neither are QB Country clients. The path back to QB1, or in Geriner's case, to QB1 for the first time, is anything but guaranteed.

In the NIL era, a higher offer to go to a smaller school could be in their future. That's a better career route if Knight is for real and/or White is improved next season.
