College Football's bowl season has begun, and already, teams are disappointing their fanbases in major ways.

Ultimately, a lot of it is meaningless in the grand scheme because of how much roster turnover there's already been for nearly every school that didn't make the CFP, and even some that did. Good luck telling any fan who traveled to and paid good money to attend a bowl game that any of it was meaningless, though.

Yahoo Sports' Nick Bromberg broke down the winners and losers of bowl season so far, and included the Boise State Broncos, Pitt Panthers, Memphis Tigers, and Alex Golesh-less USF Bulls, who all took losses this December to officially end their 2025 seasons.

Boise State lost 38-10 to the Washington Huskies in the LA Bowl, Pitt lost 23-17 to the East Carolina Pirates in the Military Bowl, Memphis lost 31-7 in the Gasparilla Bowl after Ryan Silverfield left for the Arkansas Razorbacks job, and USF lost 24-10 to the Old Dominion Monarchs in the Cure Bowl after Byrum Brown opted out and ultimately announced his intentions to enter the Transfer Portal. Brown is reportedly considering a reunion with Golesh and Joel Gordon, who the Auburn Tigers hired from the Bulls.

USF holds grudge against Alex Golesh

USF fans, by and large, don't appreciate Golesh's time with the program. It took three years for a winning regular season, and many of the Bulls' top contributors are hitting the portal this offseason to either follow Golesh or seek an upgrade elsewhere.

In truth, Golesh left the place better than how he found it. USF became an attractive enough job for the Ohio State Buckeyes' offensive coordinator, Brian Hartline, and further progression in the American Conference is expected after a 9-3 finish in 2025.

Bulls fans need to remember that Golesh's predecessor won four games in three years in charge. USF was not as attractive when he took the job, but it looks like a budding giant now. There's a reason for that.

Auburn won't have a contingent of new green and gold-clad supporters from Hillsborough County or Pinellas County, even though they probably should.
