Broncos can trade for Cooper Kupp or Deebo Samuel to help Bo Nix reach next level in Sean Payton's offense

Bo Nix had a stellar rookie season, but the expectations raise on a sliding scale now. Year two ending the same way as year one would have many overreacting about the former Oregon and Auburn star not being able to get over the hump.

Perhaps the Denver Broncos could make a move to ensure that doesn't happen. Mile High Sports' Cody Roark has an idea of how Sean Payton could use two potential WR splashes on the trade market, Cooper Kupp and Deebo Samuel, in his offense.

Roark sees two radically different roles for the pair, but similar possible impacts.

"Adding a player like Cooper Kupp or Deebo Samuel would definitely give Bo Nix and the Broncos offense a boost in 2025. Having some weapons like that certainly make a sophomore slump less likely, but which player would be the best fit in Sean Payton’s offense? Deebo would be a Joker type player, regarding how Payton would likely use him, while Kupp is a great perimeter blocker and route runner," Roark wrote in a Denver Broncos Mailbag.

"Anybody saying Kupp has fallen off or can’t be an effective route runner anymore should watch the All-22 on him, especially in November and December’s games. Kupp is a possession guy and somebody who can consistently move the chains and be a sure-handed option, while Deebo would increase the level of explosiveness on the offensive side of the ball. Either option would be great to add, in my opinion."

If Payton is completely sold on right now, the Broncos could go all-in on the flashy aforementioned trade targets. Considering he just had his rookie QB end a nearly decade-long postseason draught in the Mile High City, he probably should.

There's been eventful offseasons in Denver for the last three years. At least.

2025 figures to be no different.
