Two weeks ago, it felt like the Auburn Tigers' offense got a thousand times worse between the Oklahoma and Texas A&M games. Against the Aggies, quarterback Jackson Arnold and the offense converted zero third downs in the entire game, and the one touchdown scored was largely made possible by a 70+ yard return by the defense.

For a second week, head coach Hugh Freeze and his staff refused to give the ball to the running backs for some unknown reason, and Arnold struggled mightily behind an offensive line that seemed not ever to know what was going on.

It's shocking that the Tigers only lost by six points, but it was the impressive performance by the defense that kept Auburn in the game for all four quarters. While the offense regroups and prepares to bounce back against Georgia, team captain Champ Anthony and the rest of the defense are keeping the offense positive.

“But for the defense, I just say keep balling. Man, offense had our back against Baylor, lord knows what would’ve happened if they didn’t have our back. So, we just have our brothers’ back,” Anthony said, per AL.com. “We are fighting with them day in and day out. So, it was just like, when they’re down, pick them up, keep giving them the ball and eventually they’re going to figure it out. At the end of the day, what we put on tape, that’s your DNA. We just trying to find consistency.”

The Tigers will take on the Georgia Bulldogs this Saturday under the lights at Jordan-Hare Stadium with kick off set for 6:30 p.m.
