As the college football season draws closer, the SEC has begun releasing kickoff windows for the teams in the conference. Games are put into one of four categories for kickoff times that give an idea of when the matchup will be played. They can be designated for early (11 a.m. to 12 p.m.), afternoon (2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.), night (5 p.m. to 7 p.m.), or flex (2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.) with all times in central.
Over the past few years, it seems like the Tigers have played a lot of afternoon games and not so many night games, but fans can get excited for some big matchups at Jordan Hare under the lights this fall.
When the Tigers welcome the Georgia Bulldogs to the Plains on October 11, kickoff will be in the night window at Auburn for the first time since 2012. The Iron Bowl has been designated a Flex time, which means that it could be at the traditional 2:30 time or could be an early evening kickoff for a night matchup.
Here are all of the time windows announced earlier this week for the Auburn football program along with the first three game times that have already been announced:
- at Baylor, August 29 - 7:00 p.m.
- Ball State, September 6 - 6:30 p.m.
- South Alabama, September 13 - 11:45 a.m.
- at Oklahoma, September 20 - Flex
- at Texas A&M, September 27 - Afternoon
