Diabolical LSU portal rumor sees Lane Kiffin pick Ole Miss or Michigan's bones

LSU Tigers head coach Lane Kiffin may capitalize on an opportunity to either bury his former employer, the Ole Miss Rebels, or take advantage of the sky falling in Ann Arbor with the Michigan Wolverines' recent stunning Sherrone Moore firing.

TigerRag's Glenn Guilbeau tabbed a pursuit of Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss or Michigan signal-caller Bryce Underwood, formerly an LSU commit before flipping to UM, as potential Tigers Transfer Portal targets this offseason.

"Offensive genius and quarterback guru Lane Kiffin, formerly of Ole Miss where he became the Master of the Portal, is now LSU’s coach. And he may target Underwood should he enter the portal," Guilbeau wrote on Underwood.

"Another possibility is the Division II transfer quarterback Kiffin helped mold into one of the best in the SEC this season. Senior Trinidad Chambliss (6-0, 200) is No. 17 in the nation in efficiency at the moment at 157.6 on 218-of-333 passing for 3,016 yards and 18 touchdowns with only three interceptions. He has rushed 118 times for 470 yards and six touchdowns. He threw for 2,901 yards and 26 TDs and rushed for 1,019 and 25 TDs last season in leading Ferris State of Grand Rapids, Michigan, to the national title last year.

"Chambliss is petitioning for another senior year of eligibility and may be hearing back on that soon. Should he enter the portal, he will likely consider returning to Kiffin, who has brought virtually his entire offensive staff with him to LSU."

Bryce Underwood would be a better get for LSU than Trinidad Chambliss

Chambliss could earn a lot of goodwill in Oxford by sticking with the Rebs if he's granted another year of eligibility. We'll see what incentives he'll have after Ole Miss's upcoming College Football Playoff run. If the No. 6 Rebels can get past the No. 11 Tulane Green Wave in a regular season rematch of a game Ole Miss handled, another rematch, this time with the only team they lost to, the Georgia Bulldogs, awaits in the Sugar Bowl.

As for Underwood, there's no reason not to consider LSU again if the money is there. Kiffin is a lot more talented of a QB molder than Joe Sloan and Moore. The Tigers will undoubtedly have more talent surrounding him than he'd have if he stayed with the Wolverines.

We'll see how this SEC drama, one that could potentially bleed into the Big Ten, unfolds.

It's no surprise Kiffin wants to take advantage of two potential College Football wastelands, one of which he created.

Auburn faces LSU in Week 8 of the 2026 season

Kiffin's Magical Mystery Tour will be pulling into Auburn on October 24. One would imagine this game would be under the lights at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
