Auburn has now lost nine games in a row to the Georgia Bulldogs, but it feels like this one could have just as easily gone the other way had the officials actually called the game correctly. Many missed calls, not giving Georgia a penalty when Kirby Smart was trying to call a timeout when he didn't have any, and other things led to the Tigers' loss to the Bulldogs on Saturday.
The biggest call that seemed to be missed was when Georgia lined up offside on a pivotal moment of the game when Auburn was trying to score. On this play, it is clear as day on a review and a snapshot of the line of scrimmage that half of the Georgia defensive line is offside when they line up.
The reason this missed call is so pivotal is that this play resulted in a fumble that Georgia recovered. Auburn quarterback Jackson Arnold was trying to get the ball to cross the plain over the top, and it was knocked out by a Georgia defender.
The player resulted in the Bulldogs getting the ball and marching down the field for a field goal to end the half to make it a 10-3 game with the Tigers still in the lead. That fumble, however, gave Georgia all the momentum and juice they needed for the rest of the game.
Auburn fans are outraged over missed offsides call against Georgia in pivotal moment
If yall really want to talk about the play before the half. Let’s talk about the multiple Georgia players offside before the snap. #secofficiating #auburn #Georgia pic.twitter.com/FJ3fT6Siq1

This play has been talked about as the turning point for Georgia in the game. Sure, it is easy to cause a fumble when half of the offensive line is lined up offside.
We just not even gonna talk about how Georgia is lined up offsides on the “fumble” pic.twitter.com/UH5dXpdsQz

Notice how the word fumble is in quotes there because Tigers should have gotten to replay the down.
@SECOfficiating is comical. Can see that ball came out a millimeter before ball broke the goal line, but can see Georgia line up offsides. @GregSankey needs to issue yet another apology pic.twitter.com/IYzTin8Oyk

You practically can't see the ball because the Georgia defenders are right on top of it because they are lined up offside.
The way I didn’t realize till today when this shot of Georgia being offsides was at such a pivotal moment makes me mad all over again https://t.co/bhVFIHeK6E

This game was so infuriating for many Auburn fans, but to see that it was practically given to Georgia because of the refs just makes it that much more frustrating.
