According to numerous reports, former Auburn football quarterback TJ Finley has once again entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. Should he commit to another program, it would be Finley's sixth stop in his collegiate career.
Finley spent two years on the Plains playing for Auburn football under former head coach Bryan Harsin. He transferred to Auburn after spending one year at LSU.
Finley served as a backup to Bo Nix in his first year on the Plains and spent the next year competing with Robby Ashford for the QB1 role. Finley's time at Auburn was a rollercoaster, and despite some highlights he was never able to establish himself as the best candidate to be Auburn's quarterback.
He entered the transfer portal in 2022 following Harsin's firing from the Auburn football program and committed to Texas State. His stint with the Bobcats was the most successful in his career, and he threw for 3,439 yards and 24 touchdowns.
Finley then transferred to Western Kentucky, and he was named the starting QB for the Hilltoppers. He was limited to three games at the beginning of the season before he was sidelined with an ankle injury. After last season, he entered the transfer portal and committed to Tulane ahead of spring practices.
The QB's most recent portal entry comes after he was suspended indefinitely by the Green Wave following an arrest on charges relating to a stolen car and was booked with a charge of illegally possessing stolen goods worth over $25,000, according to AL.com.
