The battle for Cam Coleman is over, and Arch Manning must be smiling extremely big right now.

Coleman, the No. 1 receiver in the transfer portal who played his first two years at Auburn, announced on Sunday that he is committed to Texas, joining Manning and Steve Sarkisian in Austin.

A former 5-star signee by Hugh Freeze and Auburn in the 2024 recruiting class, Coleman led the Tigers in receiving with 708 yards on 56 catches with five touchdowns this past season. In 2024, as a freshman, the Phenix City, Ala., native caught 37 passes for 598 yards and eight touchdowns.

As Auburn’s pass offense continued to struggle this past season, Coleman’s production was less than what many thought it would be when he first arrived on the Plains, but it was hardly his fault, as he continued to come down with circus catches for touchdowns. Notably, his best game came right after the dismissal of Freeze as head coach, as he caught 10 passes for 143 yards and a score in a 45-38 overtime loss to Vanderbilt.

Once Coleman entered the transfer portal earlier in January, he became highly sought after by blue-blood programs such as the Longhorns, Alabama, Texas Tech and Texas A&M, where he was originally committed to during his recruiting process before flipping to Auburn. He became a part of the mass exodus of players once the Tigers hired USF Alex Golesh, including three of the ā€œFreeze Fourā€ that included Coleman, Perry Thompson, Malcolm Simmons and Bryce Cain. Only Cain remains on Auburn’s roster.Ā

Coleman will join a Longhorns team that will be highly ranked going into the 2026 season as Manning returns for his second season as the full-time starter under Sarkisian. Texas finished 10-3 this season with a win against Michigan in the Citrus Bowl.Ā
