The Auburn Tigers just added another key piece to their defense ahead of the 2026 season. Former Florida State cornerback Shamar Arnoux has committed to new head coach Alex Golesh the Tigers out of the transfer portal after spending the weekend on campus for a visit.
From Carrollton, Georgia, Arnoux was a 3-star out of high school ranked as the No. 43 cornerback in the recruiting class of 2025. Former head coach Hugh Freeze and his staff pushed hard for Arnoux, who initially committed to Tennessee before flipping to USC, then flipping to Auburn, and ultimately signing with Florida State on signing day.
As a true freshman with the Seminoles, Arnoux had four starts and appeared in 11 games. He recorded 27 tackles and one pass breakup on the season, and he will have three years of eligibility left once arriving on the Plains.
Arnoux is the third cornerback that the Auburn Tigers and cornerbacks coach Demarcus Van Dyke have signed from the portal. The others are former UCLA cornerback Andre Jordan Jr. and former USF cornerback Gavin Jenkins. The Tigers lost four cornerbacks to the transfer portal following the hiring of Golesh and the new staff, but have returned four important safeties for the defensive back unit.
The former Seminole is the 23rd player to commit to the Auburn Tigers from the transfer portal.
