The Auburn football program has added another player from the transfer portal. Former Wake Forest wide receiver Horatio Fields announced his commitment to the Tigers earlier today. He is the 11th transfer to hop on board with Auburn and the first wide receiver. He is ranked as the #27 player and #10 wide receiver in the transfer portal.

Fields signed as a 3-star wide receiver out of high school with the Demon Deacons as a member of their 2021 recruiting class and spent four years in Winston-Salem. He saw minimal game action until 2023, when he started to work his way into the rotation and had a breakout season in 2024, starting all 12 games for the Demon Deacons.

He visited the Plains earlier this week following an official visit to Kentucky. He had plans to visit Duke and South Carolina, but said after his Auburn visit he had seen enough and would be choosing between the Wildcats and the Tigers.

"What Coach (Marcus) Davis preached," Fields said on why Auburn, per Auburn Rivals. "He was very transparent, and from the jump, not one thing he said over the phone was missed. Everybody preached the same thing. Everybody had the same energy, and I fully feel that with a team like Coach Davis and everybody around us, I could be maximized here."

Auburn football lost two wide receivers to the transfer portal in Caleb Burton and Camden Brown, and KeAndre Lambert-Smith will be out of eligibility. In addition to Fields, the Tigers are looking to add another wide receiver, and they're hoping to land former Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket Eric Singleton Jr.

"They all preach that this a group that invests in each other, that rebounds off each other and Coach Freeze emphasized all that after conversating with all the coaches," Fields said after his visit, per Auburn Undercover. "The strength, nutrition, all the position coaches, Coach Freeze circled all that and put it together in a couple words. He really showed that everything they're preaching, he's preaching the same thing and it starts right there — it starts with him."
