Florida State is riding a lot of momentum to start the 2025 season, as the Seminoles sit 3-0 and have an impressive season-opening win over Alabama. This follows a 2024 campaign in which Mike Norvell's team finished 2-10, including 1-7 in ACC play.
Now, the Seminoles are trying to come into Auburn territory and flip a highly-touted Tiger commit in Jaylen Scott. Per Tom Loy, the 4-star and No. 9 safety in the 2027 class took an unofficial visit to Tallahassee this past weekend. Scott seemed to come away impressed.
"We got there and they took us to the practice field, where we ate and checked in," he said per Noles247. "I already know most of the facility, so they didn't show me anything I haven't already seen. What I like about the program is the honesty and dedication. It's a tough program. Looking back at last year's team and this year's team, it's just that they have an itch for dominance. I love how they coach their guys up."
As for his relationship with the Florida State coaches, the Mobile, Ala., native had nothing but good things to say.
"I've talked to coach Surtain, coach Norvell, and coach Sims," he said. "Their message was really that I'm welcome back anytime, and they were very glad to have me there."
Don't fret yet, though, Auburn fans. Scott was asked when and where his next visit will be, and the answer was a good one for Hugh Freeze and his staff.
"My next visit is more than likely going to be the Auburn vs. Georgia game."
Scott committed to Auburn on June 9th, the same day he decommitted from the Seminoles.
