The regular season has finished for college baseball, and the SEC Tournament will take place later this week at the Hoover Met in Hoover, Alabama.
After a tough series against Ole Miss in Oxford this weekend, the Tigers walked away with one win to beat the sweep and ended their 2025 season with a 38-17 overall record. With a 17-13 record in the conference, the Tigers have been assigned a 6-seed in the upcoming tournament.
Auburn baseball will have a first-round bye in the tourney and will face the winner of the game between 11-seed Mississippi State and 14-seed Texas A&M on Tuesday night. While the Tigers did not play Texas A&M this season, they won two of the three games in their series against Mississippi State in Plainsman Park.
"We wound up winning seven of our 10 SEC series," Auburn baseball Head Coach Butch Thompson said, per Auburn Undercover. "Our two toughest times have been on the road and we wanted to avoid that today. There were implications were you could be this seed or that seed. I just think it was good for these guys. When they're pushing hard and rallying hard, I just want to see them have success."
The SEC Tournament is a single-elimination tournament that starts on Tuesday, May 20 with the teams seeded 9-16. Winners of Tuesday's games advance to play teams seeded 5-8 on Wednesday. The 1-seed and 4-seed teams begin play on Thursday, and the 2-seed and 3-seed teams play on Friday.
