Hugh Freeze can't be serious with postgame message after loss to Kentucky

Sorry Hugh, but this isn't going to cut it.

If this isn't rock bottom for Auburn football, then no one wants to know what is. This simply feels like it has to be it for Hugh Freeze as head coach of the program. He entered the season with his seat already hot and now things have reached a new level.

Auburn's humilating home loss to Kentucky could doom Hugh Freeze

The loss to Kentucky was embarrassing on so many levels. The Wildcats have looked like one of the worst teams in the SEC this season, but Auburn was able to one-up them there on Saturday in front of its home fans. A 10-3 loss to UK at Jordan-Hare? Unacceptable. Leave it to Freeze to make the night worse with his postgame comments:

Auburn fans are not happy with Hugh Freeze and no one can blame them for that

In this day and age people aren't willing to have patience? Come on, man. You know that your team is so dang close? Again, come on, man. This just feels like a typical response from Freeze after a tough showing, but losing at home to Kentucky can never, never happen.

People all over Lexington are in the same boat as the Auburn faithful, essentially begging for Mark Stoops to be fired as soon as possible. For Auburn to take some pressure off of Stoops is beyond comical and the fact that Freeze still thinks he's close with the Tigers is sad.

With the loss, Auburn is now 4-5 on the year and no one knows how the rest of the campaign is going to go. We've already seen big-name coaches fired in 2025, of course including Billy Napier, James Franklin and more. Is Freeze going to be added to that list?

Only time will tell, but it just doesn't seem like there's going to be any way back for Freeze from this. This indeed feels like a new low point for Auburn and only some sort of a change is going to give people hope that better days are ahead. The Freeze experiment, sadly, needs to come to a close.
