Auburn football's Jordan Hare Stadium is about to get a little tweaked.
Auburn University recently announced YellaWood and its parent company, Great Southern Wood Preserving, as their latest on-field sponsors. As a part of the eight-figure deal, the words “Pat Dye Field” will be painted on the Jordan-Hare Stadium's 25-yard line along with the YellaWood logo.
In his press conference held on Monday, Tigers head coach Hugh Freeze opened up on how he feels about the change.
“We couldn’t function in today’s climate without the quality of boosters and supporters that we have,” Freeze said. 'We’re blessed here at Auburn to have many great ones that have obviously stepped up and done new things that are a sign of the new climate.”
Emphasizing the need for sponsors in the fast-paced NIL era, Freeze expressed his gratitude towards the school's alum and YellaWood’s founder and CEO, Jimmy Rane.
“We’re very grateful that we have those people that are willing to do that time and time again, and I know they probably get tired of us always calling the same few,” Freeze said. “But we’re very thankful here that we’ve got many, many great boosters that are helpful in a lot of ways.”
With sponsorships like these backing the program in the NIL era, Freeze will have Auburn's name back in the Top 10 recruiting cycles lists in no time. Additionally, the Tigers may also get the upper hand in luring certain transfers from rival schools.
And all this might just be the start of what YellaWood and Auburn's partnership has in store for the football team.
