Hugh Freeze on the verge of losing elite LB commit to Kirby Smart and Georgia

This would be a disaster for the Tigers.

When it was announced that 4-star Auburn football commit Shadarius Toodle would be taking an official visit to Georgia, a lot of Tigers fans were concerned. Unfortunately, it looks like that trip to Athens over the weekend could not have gone much better for the elite prospect.

Moment ago, On3's Steve Wiltfong put in a prediction for Kirby Smart and Co. to pull off a flip and ruin things for Hugh Freeze. That's right, Toodle is now going to be on 'flip watch' thanks to the latest update from Wiltfong. If this ends up going down, it'd no question be a huge blow for Freeze and his 2026 recruiting efforts:

Georgia is predicted to flip 4-star Auburn linebacker commit Shadarius Toodle

Toodle has been Auburn-bound since late July, giving Freeze a pretty early commitment. Despite that, several teams have upped their efforts and multiple official visits have been set. In addition to his trip to Auburn, Toodle is also expected to take an OV to Michigan, Baylor, North Carolina and Auburn (June 13).

However, it's now fully unknown if Toodle is going to move forward with his visit schedule, especially if Wiltfong ends up being on the money with his prediction. This would be a head-turning get for Georgia, especially after the program whiffed on 5-star OT Jackson Cantwell last week.

Yes, Toodle plays a different position, but pulling a fast one on an SEC rival would give Smart some needed momentum out on the recruiting trail. Toodle picked up 34 offers this cycle - he's ranked the No. 9 LB in the country, No. 10 prospect from Alabama and No. 168 player nationally per the 247Sports Composite.

For now, Toodle remains Auburn-bound for '26, but it seems like Freeze is now hanging on by a thread to keep him on board. Unfortunately for Auburn fans, they might have to start thinking about Toodle donning a Dawgs jersey at the next level instead of a Tigers one.
